By utilizing the information presented on this website by the American Association of Orthodontists (“AAO”), through accessing the website, the user agrees to and acknowledges the following disclaimers.

Much of the content presented on the TechSelect website and platform consists of the opinions of those individuals represented in videos and other testimonials, and/or the opinions of individuals involved in the creation of TechSelect website content. Additionally, much of the product and service data and other information provided on the TechSelect website is provided by the manufacturers and/or sellers of the products discussed on the website. Neither the AAO, its staff, nor members of the AAO’s Committee on Technology (“CTECH”) have independently verified such product and service information. Individuals utilizing the TechSelect website and platform should independently verify product and service information and data with the manufacturers and/or sellers of such products.

The products and services mentioned on the TechSelect website and platform are manufactured, sold, and/or provided by individuals and/or entities other than the AAO. The AAO does not manufacture or otherwise provide any product or service discussed on the TechSelect website and platform, nor is the AAO a retailer or seller of any such product or service, nor does the AAO occupy any position in the chain of custody or control for any product discussed on the TechSelect website and platform. As a result, neither the AAO nor its Trustees, staff, members, CTECH members, agents and/or representatives assume any duty or liability with respect to the products and services discussed on the website, including without limitation, any claim asserted under a theory of negligence, product liability, or any other tort cause of action; breach of contract or any other contract cause of action; breach of warranty or any other warranty-based cause of action; any state or federal consumer fraud or consumer protection statute; and/or any other cause of action at law or in equity.

Any express or implied warranty provided for any of the products or services discussed on the TechSelect website and platform is provided by the manufacturer(s), seller(s), and/or provider(s) of such products and services. The AAO specifically states that no express or implied warranty, including without limitation, any warranty of merchantability or warranty for fitness of purpose, is offered by the AAO, or its Trustees, staff, members, CTECH members, agents and/or representatives, with respect to the products and services discussed on the TechSelect website and platform.

The AAO intends for the information, products, and services discussed on the TechSelect website and platform to apply only to clear aligners printed by the TechSelect website user/visitor for a patient with whom the user/visitor has a doctor-patient relationship. The AAO cautions that any manufacture, production or sale of clear aligners outside such a doctor-patient relationship, including the manufacture or production of clear aligners for sale to any other doctor or practice, may give rise to additional product registration and other obligations under the U.S. Food and Drug Act. Any user/visitor of the TechSelect website and platform who intends to manufacture clear aligners for any use outside of the user/visitor’s treatment of his/her own patients should consult with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and/or legal counsel, to determine whether additional registration and other requirements apply.

Individuals who access information contained on the TechSelect website should be aware that the AAO receives compensation from the partner companies referenced on the TechSelect website in exchange for their listing on the website. The AAO, by and through its Committee on Technology, reviews information provided by partner companies to ensure compliance with relevant minimal technical specifications and other concerns before permitting the appearance of any such company on the TechSelect website. However, appearance of any company on the TechSelect website does not constitute an “endorsement” or any other guarantee of such companies and/or their products by the AAO. Individuals desiring to purchase products from companies featured on the TechSelect website should undertake their own review of technical specifications and product quality in general prior to making any purchase. All references on the TechSelect website to “branding” refer only to the placing of an orthodontic practice’s “brand” name on any packaging of or advertisement referring to clear aligners printed at the practice. Creating a specific “brand name” for aligners fabricated in-house may subject the doctor/practice to additional FDA and other requirements, and users of the TechSelect website should consult with their own counsel before creating a “brand name” for aligners fabricated in-house.
